In modern society, information is continuously generated, and alongside information analysis, there is a growing demand for skills in data management and the effective application of data-driven insights.

In response to this demand, the Department of Convergence Informatics is structured around core areas that strengthen professional and analytical expertise in big data and information science, grounded in a broad understanding of humanity and society and an informatics-based perspective. The program offers three advanced specialization tracks—Data Science Convergence, Business Informatics Convergence, and Human Science Convergence—and is designed to fulfill the educational objectives and ideal graduate profile of the Graduate School.

The Convergence Informatics major develops students’ abilities to analyze and interpret complex data, enabling faster, more rational decision-making in diverse, dynamic, and increasingly complex organizational and social environments.

Korea Cyber University Graduate School imposes no restrictions based on undergraduate major. Applicants from any academic backgrounds—including the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering—are eligible to apply. The program welcomes individuals who wish to enhance their understanding of information and informatics, particularly in big data analysis, in connection with their professional roles. The graduate curriculum begins with foundational courses that introduce the structure of the information society and progresses to a wide range of data analysis principles and techniques using tools such as Python and R. Data analysis training encompasses both statistical analysis and large-scale big data analytics across diverse industrial fields.

  • 01 Foundational and Applied AI Programming Curriculum

    A comprehensive set of non-curricular programs is offered, covering machine learning, deep learning, Python-based AI programming, speech and image processing, natural language processing, and AI service development. These programs strengthen theoretical foundations, hands-on technical skills, and real-world application capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence.

  • 02 Multidisciplinary Faculty with Recognized Expertise Home and Abroad

    Courses and research supervision are provided by a distinguished faculty with recognized expertise across the humanities and social sciences, information technology and management, big data, and artificial intelligence.

  • 03 Flexible Curriculum Reflecting Rapid Developments in the Fourth Industrial Revolution

    Through courses such as the Future Technology Seminar, industry trends and changes are analyzed and dynamically integrated into the curriculum, enabling students to respond effectively to the rapidly evolving industrial landscape.

  • 04 Future-Oriented Integrated Online and Offline Learning Model

    An integrated learning model is developed and implemented, combining offline presentations and discussions centered on the Circular Studio Center with real-time online and remote learning environments.

  • 05 Customized Curriculum through One-on-One Academic Advising

    Personalized academic pathways are designed through one-on-one consultations between students and faculty, allowing students to pursue individualized learning objectives and research directions aligned with their career goals.

    To enhance practical data analysis competencies, a match-up-style professional training program is offered free of charge. The program is structured around four core professional roles: Big Data Planning Specialist, Big Data TechnologySpecialist, Big Data Analysis Specialist, and Big Data Processing Specialist.

  • 08 Academic Writing Using Four Statistical Methods

    Through pre-learning-based instruction in core statistical research methodologies—factor analysis, t-tests, ANOVA, and regression analysis—this program strengthens foundational analytical skills and provides practical support for coursework, thesis writing, and project-based research.

  • 09 Engineering Research Paper Writing

    Designed for prospective researchers in engineering and related fields, including master’s and doctoral students, this program develops essential academic writing skills, covering the structure and composition of engineering research papers, academic writing strategies, and journal submission procedures, thereby enhancing overall research capability and scholarly output.
