The Software Engineering aims to cultivate the professional IT workforce needed by both the nation and society by nurturing future talents with application
capabilities in the field based on basic theories rather than a simple focus on skills in the IT sector. The department’s curriculum is subdivided into three
majors: software development, software education, and database/artificial intelligence. In the software development course, students design, realize
and perform tests for software functions that are ideal for each tasks with the computer programing language in the web, mobile, and embedded environment, distribute their outcome to users, and learn the technology and knowledge necessary to improve services. In the software education course, students learn the knowledge and experience to hone their creative problem-solving capabilities through coding based on computational thinking. Finally, in the database/artificial intelligence course, students learn the knowledge necessary to design and build database from data requirements and secure the optimal performance and quality, and further develop the artificial intelligence-based big data analysis capacity. It presents an efficient and basic roadmap for the learning direction of each study. Furthermore, the department provides an advanced learning environment based on education content developed in collaboration with Samsung SDS and Microsoft Korea where students can build creative and practical abilities as engineers.
